Faux ribbon necklace

As I was taking pictures for the Etsy shop of some stamped ribbon (in this case vintage seam binding) I wrapped it around the neck of a dress form.

To make it look pretty I added this vintage pin.Copy of 1-16-09 078
Then I tried this rhinestone barrette that has an alligator type back.

They both looked pretty nice and thought this might actually work.  To make your own quick and easy faux ribbon necklace you will need the following supplies.

An ink pad suitable for fabric, ribbon that has a smooth surface or seam binding which you can pick up in little packages of four yards.  A rubber stamp, brown paper bag, scissors, iron, and a pin or pins of your choice.

Cut approx two (2) yards of ribbon if you would like to be able to change the length later on.  Place the ribbon on the paper bag, ink up your stamp and start stamping the entire length of the 2 yards.

Iron your ribbon to heat set the ink.  Now try out some looks.  The stamping looks pretty dark in the photos but it is more subtle in person.

If your outfit needs more sparkle, try adding some vintage lever back rhinestone earrings.
