I would like to comment on your blog however I literally can't see the new versions of blogger's word verification that have two words instead of one and one of the words has a background that I simply can't seem to get right. I'm sorry I'm not downloading an MP3 file to leave a comment and I can't understand what the heck the words are anyway.
I tried seven times tonight to type in the right words without success. I switched to hear the letters but had to download an MP3 file to get them. Barely audible on my system. Something else I noticed on a few blogs is the leave comment box is missing all together on newer posts.
I don't think I'm the only one with this problem so my suggestion is to remove word verification and put moderate comments instead. That said if your blog has both word verification and moderate comments e.g. comment visible after approval please remove the word verification one since only one is necessary.
My vision thanks you!
Oh, I so gree with you! My comments are moderated and there has only been a few in 3 years that I had to delete and mostly because they want to slide a link in to comments. If I take the time to do the word verification, I never get it right the first time and then I am gone. Seems silly to me but maybe others get tons of spam? XO
ReplyDeleteI hate the word verification but it's true some bloggers must get a ton of spam. I have never had a problem (so far)
ReplyDeleteAmen! I went to a favourite site the other day and wanted to leave a comment when the word verification came up. I have a tendency towards dyslexia to begin with so watching me try to decode this stuff is rather humourous until it becomes downright frustrating! Then I went to the voice and it was like being underwater and trying to understand a foreign language. Call me sufficiently humbled and frustrated. Boo.
ReplyDeleteI had mine taken off but i get so much spam and some mean comments and with word verification it meant i didn't see it,i will look into changing mine today...i have found the new word verification difficult myself but have so far managed, there are plenty of blogs i can not comment on anymore and a lot of us changed to a drop down comment box last month which has worked
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with ya, sistah!! I took all that stuff off of my blog so my peeps don't have to go thru all the rigamarole of going blind to talk to me!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this PSA - I've had such a hard time commenting on a lot of blogs recently because of just this issue. I hope people take heed!
ReplyDeleteHi ive just popped over from Sydney, Australia. I am doing a beach house makeover and would love you to head over and take a peek.
ReplyDeleteI am so annoyed with the new word verification, i cant agree with you more! Thankyou for bring it up.
Yep, true! All you need is the setting "moderate comments after one day". That's when most of the spam comes in. Occasionally I get a spam comment, then I just delete it.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on this. Bloggers should do everything they can to make it easy for their commenters to enjoy their visit!
ReplyDeleteG'day~I hear you on the computer crashing Ugh! That makes for an ugly day....
ReplyDeleteI too don't like the word verification's, on mine I just approve it and that seems to be o.k. I would like them to just show up but it gives me a chance to single my comments out and get back to my friends.
Have a fabulous weekend! ~Cheers Darling, Kim
I am with you, Rita! That word verification has gotten so difficult. Have a great weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteTotally agree - it makes commenting a real effort thesedays - I switched mine off ages ago & hardly get any spam - maybe one a week.

It's insane! I agree with you!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! They are SO frustrating! I just set mine to where I can get anonymous comments, and that cleared up my spammer issues! I also like it when people have the pop-up comment form. It's easier to reference the post that you are commenting on AND it doesn't redirect you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rita for your beautiful visit, I disabled word so my visitors and comments are an enjoyable visit with out the frustration of typing in those to words and retyping due to error in spelling.
ReplyDeleteIt really has never been a problem for me with any spam or comments that could not be controlled otherwise.
I see more with theirs disabled then not.
Have a beautiful inspiring weekend.
Blowing ocean of kisses your way.
xx

How frustrating! I just started back up blogging again...wondering if I am going to have the same problem.
ReplyDeleteIt is working for me. Maybe try it in different browser.
ReplyDeleteValuable information and excellent design you got here! I would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts and time into the stuff you post!! Thumbs up
