Seaside shops and a walk on the beach

Each morning on my way to work I drive over a tiny little bridge. In the winter it's gray and plain.

Come summer it's a different story.

If you haven't started a summer garden yet you don't have to
travel far to get some flowers and herbs.

Pick up some beachy colored ornaments

Have some coffee and meander through a few shops
before peddling to the beach just a little over
two kinda short blocks away.

Sometimes, after work I like to go to the beach by our new (older) home
It's early in the season so just about everyone had headed home.

I found a seagull...

trying to eat this container

and some clam shells someone had rounded up.

I was pretty much alone with the seagulls and the shells.

Wonderful.

Passing by the lake the sun made the water look golden.

Dozens of swans had gathered to groom themselves.

Beautiful.

Thank you for stopping by.
Enjoy your week.

Great shots. I live by the sea side also and not a day goes past that I don't remind myself just how lucky I am. Having moved from city Melbourne to the coast about 2 years ago, I could never go back. Although its winter here now, the ocean is just as beautiful and serene as it is in the summer months. I loved the journey you took me on in your shots. You've inspired me to do the same at some stage on my blog. Have a wonderful week.

Sometimes I look at your photos and cry. My soul misses the ocean and the peace and contentment it brings. I am landlocked and only get to visit my soul place. I visit visually through you. Thanks

Wow! What a great thing to do each morning. Mine not so romantic, but equally scenic:

I open all the shutters onto our portico balconies and look at the sea. Then get the kids ready for school and load them up in the car or bicycle with double kid-carrier thingie. Get to the school via a street that borders the mediterranean sea. We comment on how the sea is doing today and what color it is. (It's blue like my eyes, or it's gray and angry, ect...) Drop off the older kid to Kindergarden and bring the little one with me to the open market and get fresh veggies. Return home and... repeat.

Willl have to take photos of these things!!
