Petsmart Sunday with Sunday, a beautiful Sun Conure

This past Sunday was Petsmart day for dog food; the canine brood stayed home.  Our canine children usually stroll in like yes, that's right we're here, aren't we pretty where are the biscuits, and okay if you must, pet me go ahead but, don't take up too much of our time others are waiting to oohh and aahh over us, while tossing me a look of, see these other people aren't telling us sit, stay or no.  What, is wrong with you?

My DB (dearly beloved) mentioned a comical bird he saw during his last visit.  He mentions them now and again; which I'm thinking is his way of letting me know one of these days... I sauntered over to the bird cages and inquired about the personality of the bird my DB described.  That could be Oscar.

Oscar pecked at the window, danced around, and rolled over his toys. Oscar either likes you or he doesn't.  My index mouse clicking finger (heaven forbid it get injured) endured several hard pinches from his beak. Oscar, definitely didn't like me.

Maybe, he meant the other bird Jen Jen, a Jenday Conure.

Jen Jen was a riot running up and down my arm, pecking at the zipper pull on my jacket and ended up tangling  himself in my hair as he was going for my earrings.  Back in his cage he bobbed up and down and left to right, swung on his perches, squealed and squawked.  Looking right at me until I went to take his picture.

Well there is one more bird in the back named Sunday that was in front until Oscar arrived.  He was put in the back so we can keep him from getting too bonded with Jen Jen.

I was immediately taken by Sunday's bright colors, and happy looking face.  He jumped right onto my finger and, as I rotated them he continued to step up like walking up stairs.

Sunday cocked his head as if he understood every word I said.  He ran up and down my arms and let me rub his stomach.  He was such a gentleman he even let me know he needed to relieve himself. Thank goodness.
The Petsmart staff said he was quite smart and would likely be easy to train to do tricks.  Sunday knows when things are missing like pens and paper that are normally found in the staff's shirt pockets.

I don't have any experience to speak of concerning birds but, Sunday was a freindly and delightful bird.  I really wanted to take him home.

Thank you for the sunshine award La Dolfina. I'm passing the sun along to.....

I was happily surprised by Therese of La Dolfina the other day with a Sunshine Award. It will always be special because the person that bestowed it just doesn't have a blog I truly look forward to reading, it is like
we are reunited friends from long ago thinking the same things, at the same time....from across the country.
Before I get into keeping  what I understand is the tradition of passing this award along to a dozen other bloggers I'd like to take a moment to share some images from Therese's blog that hit home with this East Coaster.
Therese's wonderful coastal bathroom
Her displays of nature are so artful.
Photo's from her treasure hunting.
I love shopping along with Therese.
She knows exactly what I would gravitate to...
and takes photos that have me chomping at the
bit wishing I could load them in my car.
I could add just about every photo of her treasure hunting
but that would spoil all of the fun of your enjoying her jaunts.
Therese loves meeting new bloggers so stop in for a visit at LaDolfina

Now without further delay of passing the rays
in no particular order

Flip Flops to Flip over

There is no time like the present to window shop for summer flip flops.
All by Mystique except one pair by Lilly Pulitzer.

Lilly Pulitzer
I've had these little gold chain numbers for two years.
I justified the price because they actually lived up to what other wearers told me; little to
no blisters in between your toes plus they actually make my unattractive feet palatable in public.
Surprisingly comfortable I've worn them walking around for hours at a time.

I'm looking forward to wearing them again very soon.

Kim Seybert Designs beachy beaded tabletop bling

Kim Seybert Designs are literally beaded and embroidered works of art for your table.   I'd would love to use any of these to set a table.

Island Style

Kim's work has been featured magazines such as Coastal Living, Elle Decor, Modern Bride and is available at speciality retailers as well as Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

I don't know who made the one we have shown below but, I'm thinking that big chunky napkin ring would work pretty nicely.

New York Gift Fair spotlight on home decor

The New York Gift Fair is held twice a year.  Usually we go 2-3 days and still can't seem to manage stopping to see everything.  Put on your comfy shoes and talk a walk with us.
Are you ready?

We managed to get a lot of photos this year.
Some vendors do not allow photos of their designs.

As we walked I saw some things that reminded me of
other bloggers.  There are so many bloggers listing them all would
be an all night event so these are the first that popped into my mind.

This dog statue reminded me of La Dolfina's
and so did this

Couture De Papier's U.S. Coast Guard Cottage home
I agree with Red Ticking and The Shabby Garden spring can't
come soon enough. It is the weed pulling that never seems to end.
These might be a better choice.

Bright towels and pillows a la Anthropolgie style

The blue stands made me think of Simple Daisy's dining room

This made me think of Shorely Chic

This large mirror surrounded by these little shelves was striking in person

Come on. Keep walking...

Trina Turk offers pillows now

Feeling overwhelmed?

I wouldn't have minded sitting in this cart and being pushed around.

A chair for Ticking and Toile

Numbers for Itsy bits and pieces and memo racks for White Wispers to you

The photograph doesn't due justice to these hand towels.
There is so much to see...

Sandy starfish and huge sewing scissors for Shore House Chic

Really soft organic cotton pillow covers

French Larkspur  bottle rack and lettered settee

We stumbled upon this devine ribbon lover's delight on
our way to another vendor. Beautiful ribbons made of silk velvets,
tafetta, cottons, burlap, plain fine soft silks, grosgain, organza...
There were solids, polka dots and stripes....
I could have stayed there for a few hours.

These matches are so pretty for lighting candles.
I have the seahorse and starfish ones on the buffet table.

Flags for Rue-Mouffetard
Whew!  Are you tired?  I'm tired

Just two more minutes to go

Not up to putting on a party dress?
We aren't either...

Upcoming post: Kim Seybert's tabletop.

Thanks for walking with us.  Hope your feet don't hurt too bad.

Good Night!
