Varnished to perfection
Shiny enough to use as a make-up mirror.
You couldn't miss the blue on this sport model
or neat oval instrument panel on this one.
Notice the shifter is on the floor.
I liked the little anchor on the locker door.
Some boats were very simple and sparse.
While others epitomized a fine day of boating.
Like this forward cockpit.
Complete with upholstery
and a rear deck for serving lunch
and a flagstaff with a flag in a perfect color combination.
This one had a fiberglass deck but I couldn't help taking
a photo of the pristine all white anchor.
A reproduction row boat whose owner patiently
let me click away for that perfect shot.
I think this motor might have been red at one time.
This little cutie caught my attention with its non traditional
colored exterior and interior.
For many little "Doodle" the dingy was
the belle of the ball,....
but for me it was "Alda"
You might recall my saying we are over run with boats from paintings to pond yachts,
but this little cutie in all of her faded glory with years of neglect from being stored in an old
garage for over 50 years literally won my heart.
I also knew my friend Terri of
LaDolfina would not have hesitated to say if she is ever for sale call me.
She also would have liked this old deck chair.
Have a great week everyone.

I was just drooling over little Alda when I read your reference to me! Oh how well you know me sweet friend! I'm so sorry I missed your call today. We are having a heat wave here and I went swimming at my friend's house. It was such a nice way to spend a hot day. I've been thinking of you a lot and miss you...
We'll talk soon,
XO
Oh how wonderful...there is nothing like the craftsmanship on these amazing boats. Love the cute little pond boat too...they never seem to fail to cause my heart to swoon. Have a lovely week, cheers Katherinexx
Beautiful boats!! I love old boats like that, even Alda as well!! We used to have a Chris Craft plant right down the road from where I grew up. It was so cool to see all the boats in the process! Sadly it closed a while ago but I just love the their wooden boats!
You are killing me with that close-up!!!!!
XO
I always admire the exquisite wood work on these boats -gorgeous!!
Those old boats are just awesome, aren't they? Hubby and I used to travel to Les Cheneaux Island up in the U.P. of Michigan to go to the antique boat show there every August. We loved the beautifully renovated Chris Crafts the best, and there were always a couple wonderful old sailing vessels there, too. Your post today brought up many fond memories of that doing that.... :)

I've always loved wooden boats. These are gorgeous!
These boats are absolute works of art!!! thanks for sharing them!
Oh, these are just beautiful. All you need is champagne and an L.L. Bean totebag, and some Tods to really be in the mood! I love these classic boats - they're more art than transportation!

Beautiful boats~ they sure don't make them like that anymore...and I love that little Alda, too!
Beautiful deck and thanks for taking us up close and personal with this boat tour. Great photos.

Hi Rita dear, you don't see them with bench seats anymore, nothing like the old ones so much soul in them. As a kid we had boats and ski jet boats, yet the old ones are my fav's. They just speak to you don't they.
You are the perfect one to show us the boat love you have, what a beautiful life with water and boats you have Rita girl!
I would love to have been a stowaway on that beauty, but they would find me and throw me over board :)
Now that cute carved little beach primitive is more my speed these days!
